Our hearts are heavy at the news that our friend Richard Ryan has passed.
Richard was a boisterous soul, who performed with and directed many LCTC shows. He was as kind as can be, with a deep passion for the theater, as he performed with companies all over the Bay Area. We were lucky to have him on our stages.
Richard had been ill for the last few years, and while we are devastated at his passing, we find a little peace in knowing he is no longer in pain.
We wish his friends and family peace during this difficult time.
Our thoughts are with you Richard. Rest well ❤️

It’s #GivingTuesday! Left Coast Theatre Co. is a proud nonprofit organization, and today marks an international day of supporting nonprofit organizations. While LCTC programing had been put on pause due to the global pandemic, we know once we are able to we will hit the ground running and bring back our original LGBTQ+ shows! Production costs will begin again as well. We know the wallet is tight these days, but on this global day of giving we would be so grateful for any little amount you are able to spare to help ease those production costs. We are continuing to bring you recordings of some of our favorite plays of shows past. Tune in at 7pm for Rich Sargent's "The Distraction" from our 2016 anthology production "Left Coast News". Starring Terry Bamberger, Karl Schackne, and Antonia Miran.

SEND US YOUR SCRIPTS!
We are currently accepting script submissions for the new staged reading of "QUEERSTORY: FORGOTTEN FIGURES AND MOMENTS OF QUEER HISTORY" As the title says, with QUEERSTORY we intend to delve into some of the compelling and little-known people and events that are part of the journey that has shaped the LGBTQ+ community. We encourage stories that have not had mainstream media attention, and stories from the broader LGBTQ+ and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) communities. “Queerstory” will comprise six or seven plays which will be read in late 2020, with the goal of mounting a full production in 2021. Plays must:
• not have been previously produced in the Bay Area
• concern little-known, unknown or forgotten people or events in LGBTQ+ history
• have no more than four (4) characters
• require simple and minimal set pieces and props
• run no longer than 15 minutes. Please do not submit longer scripts – they will not be read DEADLINE: Email submissions to sumbissions@lctc-sf.org by Tuesday, September 8, 2020. We will notify all playwrights of the results by October 3, 2020.
