Rodney “Rhoda” Taylor
Rodney “Rhoda” Taylor is the founder and Board President of Left Coast Theatre Co. He is a graduate of San Francisco State University with a Bachelor’s degree in English/Creative writing. After having received his degree he began the next phase of life of trying to figure out what to do with his degree and an interest in writing. This desire eventually led him to a writers group called “GuyWriters” a group of playwrights that went on to produce a show that was staged in the SF Fringe Festival in 2009. This experience led Rodney and Joe Frank to establish a little theater company called Left Coast Theatre. An organization dedicated to producing the original works of local Bay Area and International LGBTQIA+ writers. As founder of the organization, he helped establish the family culture of the organization which still prevails to this day, once you become a member of the company, you’re family. Rodney’s professional life was in the hospitality business for 20 years in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Portland. He now lives and works in Portland in the insurance industry.
