In the Beginning . . .

In early 2012, Rodney “Rhoda” Taylor and Joseph Frank create a new theater company dedicated to developing and producing new queer-themed plays written by local, national, and international LGBTQ+ playwrights. They christened the new group Left Coast Theatre Co., LCTC to its friends.

Family Programming
LCTC makes its debut with Family Programming, a world-premiere collection of seven short plays, at the Shelton Theater in San Francisco.

I'm Not OK, Cupid

I’m Not OK, Cupid, which highlighted the joy and pain of love in the queer world, opens.

Twisted Fairy Tales

Twisted Fairy Tales, a collection of plays retelling familiar children’s stories from a queer perspective, opens.

September 2014
Shock & Awww
LCTC opens the 2014-2015 season with, Shock & Awww, stories of love, dating and other hazards.
October 2014
Nominations Announced

Twisted Fairy Tales is nominated a Best Anthology in the first-ever Theatre Bay Area Awards. Unfortunately, it does not win.

April 2015
#WTFamily Opens

#WTFamily opens and becomes our most successful production to date.

October 2015
Screaming Queens Opens

LCTC delves into the world of horror and suspense with Screaming Queens. Appropriately, Screaming Queens closes on Halloween.
